Summary

Drive growth and expand the Niman Ranch brand across the Midwest foodservice market. As the Director of Sales, you will lead sales strategy and customer development for key multi-unit operators, food service distributors, and strategic accounts while strengthening broker and contractor partnerships throughout the region. You will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Sales and cross-functional teams to grow market share, build lasting customer relationships, and drive brand loyalty through innovative sales initiatives and exceptional execution. This role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven sales leader who thrives on developing new business, influencing key customers, and delivering measurable results in a competitive, fast-paced food service environment.

 

The salary range for this position is $128,000- $192,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute a viable business sales plan to deliver a range of branded volume, margin, and profit objectives on fresh beef, pork, lamb, prepared, deli, and charcuterie categories.
  • Manage, support, and develop sales at specific existing foodservice establishments and foodservice distributors.
  • Generate expansion of new food service prospects and distributor networks.
  • Supervise Regional Sales Managers and work with assigned sales support personnel, where applicable, to help grow business in appropriate territories.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Marketing to ensure proper pricing and sales and marketing support.
  • Manage and support national and regional multi-unit foodservice accounts.
  • Provide clear verbal and written communication to other departments.
  • Manage weekly, monthly, and yearly objectives, business plans, and budgets.
  • Forecast weekly and review performance metrics.
  • Demonstrate sales leadership skills, represent the brand’s attributes, and seek self-development through continuous learning.
  • Represent Niman Ranch at trade shows, seminars, training seminars, and product/client presentations.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration, or 5-8 years of previous experience within the meat industry.
  • Experience in food service channels.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete all tasks within the allotted time frame.
  • Ability to exhibit politeness, confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy while dealing with complex problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience within the meat industry.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional movement to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another and must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
  • Must be able to climb in trailers, coolers, and warehouses.
