Summary

Help protect the quality and integrity of our products while playing a vital role in our food safety program. As a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Pre-Shipment Reviewer in our Quality Assuarance Department, you will review HACCP audits to ensure compliance with food safety standards and verify that products meet all required criteria before they are approved for shipment. You will partner with production, quality assurance, and food safety teams to help maintain regulatory compliance, uphold product quality, and support the safe delivery of products to our customers. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about food safety, compliance, and protecting consumer confidence.

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 pm-2:30 am

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies, and food safety requirements.
  • Review HACCP, Hold and Release, Process Verification Program (PVP), and Prerequisite Program records for compliance.
  • Record pre-shipment reviews on each HACCP audit for compliance.
  • Communicate any errors or issues with the Quality Assurance department or designated plant management.
  • Notify shipping personnel of compliance and non-compliance status.
  • Develop trusting and respectful relationships with USDA and production management.
  • Perform assigned duties as needed and as directed.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • 6 months of related experience.
  • Strong reading, communication, mathematics, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the Perdue Farms Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points Plan.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Work in temperatures ranging from below 0 degrees F to 85 degrees F.
  • Transition frequently between hot and cold work environments.
  • Work in wet and damp environments.
  • Experience exposure to sodium hydroxide residues (caustics), polyresin glue resins, ammonia (NH4), iodine (I), chlorine (CL2), peracetic acid, ozone (O3), and carbon dioxide (CO2) vapors.
  • Work in noise levels up to 95.1 dB.
  • Stand and walk continuously on slippery concrete surfaces.
  • Handle products with temperatures below 0 degrees F and above 160 degrees F.
  • Lift cases weighing 20 to 50 lbs. from approximately 3 to 5 feet above floor level and carry them approximately 20 feet to an inspection station.
  • Work in these conditions for 8 hours or more.
