Summary


This position is critical to the ongoing success of our Maintenance and Reliability efforts. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for identifying the elements of an executable work package that should contain, but is not limited to, the work plan (including the process and desired end results), the necessary materials, tools, permits, and labor requirements and developing Time-Phased plan for execution in alignment with Reliability Excellence processes. This position must also update and adjust existing job plans and equipment data to ensure accurate files for work execution and expected to maintain accurate equipment files as well as accurate, effective and up to date job plans. The Maintenance Planner  is also expected to spend the appropriate amount of time on the production floor inspecting work sites to ensure that all safety and work process considerations are incorporated into the job plan.  In addition to planning and scheduling, this position will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory within the Parts Room.  This position will order and receive parts for the Maintenance Department.

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm 


Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Planning/Scheduling

  • Develop plans for all maintenance activities, including maintenance of Maximo and PM System data and reporting.
  • Ensuring a continuing review of P.M. work orders as they relate to equipment history; making recommended modifications to optimize equipment reliability and maintenance labor utilization; Learning universal maintenance standards to develop reasonable expectancies for the time to complete maintenance tasks;
  • Identify and label all new equipment in keeping with company standards and keeping records current; using Key Performance Indicators to provide fact-based feedback to Manager;
  • Plan maintenance work with regard to level of skill and safety training required to complete task, reviewing SAP/Maximo data from other locations with similar equipment and report findings and recommendations.
  • Develop a Time-phased plan of activities. The time-phased plan indicates what is to be done, when, by whom and with what equipment. Proper Scheduling achieves multiple objectives: high efficiency, low inventories, and excellent customer service. The setting of order and time for planned events. Taking decisions regarding the allocation of available capacity or resources (equipment, labor, and space) to jobs, activities, and tasks over time.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

 

Parts Room

  • Conduct/Keep accurate inventory levels
  • Place orders
  • Stock incoming parts and equipment on shelves and material racks
  • Inspect, issue, collect and maintain parts, materials and tools
  • Coordinate distribution of special ordered parts
  • Identify duplicate and/or obsolete parts
  • Enter/Track Work Orders
  • Keep storage area clean and assist with other house- keeping duties
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

 

Minimum Education

  • Further technical education beyond high school or vocational training.
  • Specialized training or education (post-high school) in maintenance is preferred.

 

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years preferred.
  • Strong communication, math, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of standard software applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Able to be certified to use a pallet jack and forklift.

 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Work environment includes, but is not limited to, a normal office environment and construction site as well as climate extremes found in a poultry processing operation and a wastewater treatment facility.  
  • This position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities.
  • This position requires an associate to be able to be exposed to all chemical found in a poultry processing operation and a wastewater treatment facility.  
  • This associate must wear and/or use protective safety equipment required for the job and for various locations.  
  • This associate must be able to travel to remote facilities and/or offices for meetings.
