Summary
The Hatchery Worker is responsible for working in all areas of the hatchery, with the primary responsibilities being to work on the transfer crew and processing crew as needed.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs duties in all areas of the hatchery as assigned:
Trays eggs from farm racks or cases into incubator racks.
Loads incubators according to schedule
Cleans and disinfects incubators, hatchers, egg room, processing room and hatchery equipment
Transfers eggs from incubators to Hatcher trays as part of the Transfer Team and subject to those SOPs.
Assists in all chick processing functions
Monitors machines and equipment for proper operation and documents findings. Makes adjustments as necessary or informs supervisor when machine or equipment performance is deficient.
Performs minor maintenance duties as required to cover for vacations or absence.
Observes all company personnel, safety, quality and food safety and food safety policies.
All other duties as assigned.
Must not raise any poultry or birds.
Minimum Education
Experience Requirements
Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to work independently
Ability to input data into tablet
Ability to adapt and learn various positions and procedures

Compensation
This position has a base rate of $19.50 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable.
