Summary
Drive product availability, strengthen customer partnerships, and power sales performance. As a VMI Specialist, you will manage the procurement and replenishment of company products, including fresh meat case items, ensuring the right products are forecasted, sourced, and delivered to meet store level demand. You will collaborate closely with Sales teams and customers to support forecasting, promotions, product placement, and merchandising strategies using data driven insights. This position is ideal for a proactive, analytical professional who thrives on building relationships, solving challenges, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
This is an onsite position at our Corporate Offices in Salisbury, Maryland.
This position has a target wage of $25.82 - $41.30 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Establishes a working relationship with customers.
- Learns how the customer procures both fresh poultry (as well as other Company frozen product).
- Takes on the responsibility of doing the procurement of those items.
- Learning the customer buying process as well as inventory management.
- Works closely with the Company sales team as well as the account reps in Corporate to assure the orders placed are properly forecasted and properly placed with correct lead times for all product lines.
- Verifies and work with the warehouse associates at the divisional warehouses as needed to help monitor Company inventory and assures product is received, rotated and shipped.
- Develops a strong working relationship with the warehouse associates.
- Works with the Company booking reps as well as with divisions to develop a system to book and track features.
- Also works with reps to develop a projection model to assist in booking accurate features quantities for customers.
- Manages inventory of Company products in the warehouses to provide order fill rates to the stores (as determined by customer).
- Turns the warehouse inventory according to customer needs.
- Assists customer and account manager in category business planning process.
- Processes all claims and programs allowances with a goal of preventing deductions and elimination of causes.
- Leads customer service functions for assigned accounts to support the company goals of customer service, at minimum distribution and logistics costs.
- Responsible for all day-to-day issues that arise around the order fulfillment process and timely communication to all departments involved.
- Identifies patterns or trends impacting service and brings forward solutions to gain alignment for change.
- Escalate issues to Customer Service Manager and recommend actions for resolution.
- Autonomously and competently resolves routine and non-routine issues working independently.
- Performs a critical role in coordinating and delivering business support under indirect supervision.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
- 4 – 5 years related work experience.
- Excellent computer and math skills.
- Experience with Company mainframe systems (COS, SAP, PCS, Blue Yonder).
- Working knowledge of category management methodology.
- Strong computer and Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Use IRI, Freshlook and Proprietary category sales data as tools for the job.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
