Summary

Ensure products move safely, efficiently, and on time by leading fleet dispatch operations that support our transportation network. As a Transportation Supervisor of Fleet Dispatch, you will oversee daily dispatch activities, coordinate drivers and equipment, and manage both operational and administrative functions to support reliable delivery of products. You will partner across teams to optimize routing, respond to changing demands, and maintain strong service levels. This role is ideal for a detail oriented, solutions focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating complex logistics to keep operations running smoothly.

 

The salary range for this position is $63k - $79k per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily private fleet dispatch operations, ensuring the meeting and exceeding customer expectations and service goals.
  • Supervise, manage and coach driver dispatchers for 365-day dispatch operations.
  • Establish and maintain Perdue driver relationships.
  • Reduce delivery expenses by seeking ways to gain efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain dispatcher, driver, and operations’ KPI’s and scorecards.
  • Proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders on related transportation matters.
  • Maintain proper coverage for all shifts.
  • Interview and hire associates as needed.
  • Train in all phases of operation.
  • Evaluate job performance.
  • Support strategic direction of the department and company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Prior supervisor/management experience.
  • Qualified candidates must have excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills, general knowledge of FMC DOT guidelines, and detailed geographical knowledge of the Eastern U.S.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years of transportation, distribution, or logistics experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Flexible work schedules (both days and hours) to handle weather, holidays or other service disruptions.
  • 24 hours, 7 days a week on-call basis for matters involving customer service or safety of drivers.
  • Ability to travel to and from facility locations.
  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • Exposed to office equipment, outside weather conditions.
