Summary
As a Transportation Application Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting and advancing the technology solutions that power our transportation and logistics operations. In this highly collaborative position, you’ll partner with business and IT teams to design, enhance, and support critical applications that drive operational efficiency, system performance, and business success. You’ll work across strategic initiatives, system enhancements, troubleshooting, and application support while helping deliver innovative technology solutions that align with long term business goals. This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, influence enterprise level system design, and contribute to projects that make a meaningful impact across the organization. The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $116,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Translates the requirements for system function to detail program designs using Perdue’s Methodology and Clarizen for project management.
- Codes, tests, configures, and documents programs and systems from detailed specifications using Perdue’s methodology and structured programming practices to produce reliable programs.
- Actively supports the Team Management and Quality Improvement Process through demonstrated commitment of its concepts and tools (teambuilding, zero defects, measurement, goal setting, process models, etc.).
- Works as a team member in the development, enhancement and support of applications that meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Maintains technical proficiency by training and using the latest techniques in developing and maintaining systems.
- Acquires knowledge of existing applications for troubleshooting and user questions to be an asset to the user community. In addition, provide twenty-four hours/seven days/week on-call support of assigned systems.
- Provide advanced level technical training in internal resources and business areas as needed.
- Responsible for providing Level 1 & 2 system maintenance support for subject area as expert of area.
- Responsible for ensuring incidents and support tickets are entered and resolved accurately, on time, and per department procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring change controls for minor and major changes are implemented according to policies.
- Understand business goals and requirements associated with IT strategic roadmap.
- Research and propose system solutions to realize business goals for strategic projects in subject area.
- Responsible to determine system solutions to achieve goals of the IT strategic roadmap in subject area.
- Responsible to formulate and deliver an enterprise level functional design for all supported systems in respective areas including process flows and architecture landscape.
- Participates in IT Architecture activities as needed.
- Participate in Pre-Planning, Blueprinting, Realization, Final Preparation and Go-Live/Support phases of IT Strategic Roadmap projects assigned.
- Document and maintain business requirements for applications in subject area.
- Research solutions and develop beta or pilot test configuration of proposed solutions.
- Demonstrate beta or pilot test configurations to IT and/or business personnel to influence final design selection.
- Complete or work with business to meet the design criteria for strategic projects in respective areas.
- Coach and assist project delivery teams to fully develop configuration of final solution.
- Evaluate system solution design proposals from other Perdue personnel and contractors.
- Assist and support the project teams to complete projects successfully.
- Crosstrain to provide Tier 1 support for other areas in department as determined by department management.
- Responsible for maintaining area training documentation.
- Responsible for new associate business and technical training in subject areas.
- Additional duties may include supporting other IT areas as designated by management including Food Safety and Quality, Logistics, Inventory/Material Management, 3rd Party Logistics, Corp Safety, and other cross-functional areas by providing services for those areas as outlined above.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience with application systems used within the transportation industry.
- Transportation business process and technical experience in the following specific areas: Transportation HOS and Track and Trace, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), Fleet Management, Asset Management, and Fleet Maintenance.
- Minimum of one full project application new implementations or major application concentrating on the above areas or equivalent.
- Experience in defining and implementing Transportation solutions for private and commercial transportation fleets.
- Experienced in requirements gathering processes.
- Experienced in writing technical documents such as business requirement specifications, function specifications, and training documentation.
- Experienced in data reporting and analytics using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Dataiku, Snowflake, application databases and data retention tools, and other reporting tools such as BIRT.
- Experienced in ticket resolutions and troubleshooting.
- Experienced in Organizational Change Management requirements for subject applications including creation and delivery of training materials, implementing change control, and communicating change throughout various levels of an organization.
- Technical Skills in SQL Language, Relational DB knowledge and Report Writer Experience or related experience.
- Working knowledge of Integration methods such as EDI, AS2, API, DB2, PL/SQL or other languages, XML, HTML, JavaScript.
- Experienced in Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of Project Management tools including creation of resourced project work breakdown structures, milestone dependencies, and schedules with understanding of critical path planning. Examples: MS Project, MS Planner, MS PPM, Monday, Jira, Clarizen.
- Thorough understanding of Project Methodologies (Traditional/AGILE).
- Must be a high-energy, highly motived, and flexible self-starter with the ability to effectively multi-task.
- Ability to self-manage and complete projects and tasks on-time, with little supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and at all levels of the organization.
- Strong systems solution and systems architecture skills.

Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree.
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes.
- Configuration of Blue Yonder Transportation Planning and Blue Yonder Transportation Manager.
- Configuration experience in SAP module areas : ERP Central Component: MM – Materials Management, WM – Warehouse Management, CO – Product Costing, QM - Quality Management, PLM – Product Lifecycle Management, APO – Advanced Planning & Optimization; SAP S4/HANA; SAP TMS.
- Working knowledge of IT Testing Management Suite (i.e. Jira, HP Quality Center).
- Working knowledge of JDA for Demand and Supply Planning.
- Working knowledge of Plant Maintenance applications (Infor EAM, Maximo).
- Familiarity with Fleet Safety Management applications and processes.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Ability to work at a desk for long periods of time in an office environment.
- Position is primarily sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment outside of immediate work area.
- Primary work environment is in an office setting with open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
- Frequent use of a computer workstation.
- Some lifting up to 50 pounds (moving equipment as needed).
- Some minor travel for trade shows and conferences (approved travel expenses will be covered by Perdue Travel Policy).
- Some minor exposure to workshop conditions at ambient temperatures and weather (maintenance garages, truck yard, and other such environments in support of troubleshooting and project implementation).
- Some travel to manufacturing plant sites to support strategic projects.
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
