Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a Sr. Trade Execution Coordinator to join the International Team in Salisbury, MD. This position is responsible for the backend administrative coordination of trade execution.  Handles the shipping documentation with freight forwarders/brokers and reviews several generated reports for the attention and distribution of the International Merchandising Team.

 

The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $145,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Effectively handle export trade execution operations on international vessel shipments of bulk commodities from North America to a large variety of destinations

Appoint and instruct third party surveyors (USDA, pvt surveyors), follow up on certificates                               

Generate or arrange for key export/import documents either inhouse or from external providers/agencies

Work closely with export elevator on vessel laycan narrowing, nominations, stowage plans and laytime calculations

Manage order to cash cycle including dealing with documentary credit and other modes of payment via banking and other payment channels

Monitor and closely with commercial team to settle receivables/payables from suppliers/customers as it relates to demurrage/dispatch

Buy/sell contract and vessel charter party generation/execution

Execution/logistics risk management

Actively seek opportunities for process improvement

Work closely with allied business units and support functions

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree - Agriculture or Business preferred but not a limitation for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have/be:                                

  • Minimum 5+ years of like experience, ideally in positions of increasing responsibility
  • Specialized knowledge:            
  • Strong understanding of grain, oilseeds and oilseed products trade, domestic and export, ideally in a US context
  • Strong understanding of export logistics, especially bulk/vessel
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory policy and compliance as it relates to export shipments (including but not limited to USDA reporting, FGIS grading standards and procedures,
  • Moderate understanding of export elevator related logistics, inbound and outbound
  • Detailed knowledge of import/export documentation and execution practices and procedures
  • Expert knowledge of export contracting and underlying governing contracts/trade terms (NAEGA, NGFA, NOPA, FOSFA and GAFTA) and Incoterms
