Summary
Drive commercial growth and market impact within Perdue’s refined oils business. As a Senior Sales Representative of Refined Oil, you will lead trading activities, manage a dynamic sales portfolio, and identify new business opportunities to maximize profitability. You will partner closely with customers and internal teams to navigate market trends, execute strategic hedging, and ensure efficient product flow. This role is ideal for a results-driven, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at building relationships, analyzing markets, and delivering strong financial performance.
The salary range for this position is $101,000 - $151,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).
This is an onsite position at our Corporate Offices in Salisbury, MD.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and execute Perdue’s co-product sales portfolio, generating approximately $4M in annual sales revenue.
- Lead the trading of RBD vegetable oils with a strong focus on maximizing profitability.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities.
- Maintain and strengthen existing partnerships.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate key market drivers, including global supply and demand data.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external partners to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective product flow.
- Execute hedge strategies accurately and promptly to support customer requirements.
- Manage market risk effectively.
- Provide customers with timely information related to market conditions, contract positions, logistic coordination, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and deliver ad hoc reports to support commercial decision-making.
- Stay informed of logistics, including tank car utilization, lease car rates, truck and rail freight rates, and fuel surcharges.
- Evaluate the impact of logistics on refined oil margins.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Sales/Marketing, Economics, or related field.
- Demonstrate excellence in customer service and client engagement.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of cash commodity markets and CBOT fundamentals.
- Demonstrate strong sales acumen with proven negotiation skills.
- Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrate proficient computer skills, including a solid command of Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to timeliness, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate ability to quickly learn, apply, and adapt to new information and processes.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 5+ years of trading/merchandising experience.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Work in a normal climate-controlled office environment.
- Communicate on the telephone.
- Use standard office equipment.
- Move freely through AgriBusiness facilities, including climbing vertical heights (0 - 150').
- Maintain exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db), and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
- Travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities and customer locations.
