Summary
Reports to: Senior Director, Compensation
This position is responsible for ensuring competitive and equitable broad-based compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate a high-performing, diverse workforce to execute our business strategy and enhance Perdue's profitability, brand, and value. Manages internal processes such as the annual compensation review (merit, incentive, and general labor increases), external benchmarking, pay structure adjustments, job evaluations, and local labor market pulse checks.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees the administration of the Company’s base pay structures within the Perdue Job Framework (e.g., pay ranges, merit increase budget and process, market adjustments, general increase process, skill-based pay program, management trainee and intern pay programs, etc.), proposing pay range updates as appropriate based on external market data and financial analysis.
- Assesses competitive labor market trends. Strategically aligns compensation with leadership, delivering insights into current pay practices versus external market movement and makes data-driven recommendations for improvement. Provides quarterly updates, recommendations, and cost analysis on General Labor movement coordinating with plants to validate local wages.
- Leads the Company’s job evaluation process to ensure all jobs Director level and below are properly leveled and graded within the Perdue Job Framework and have been appropriately classified as exempt/non-exempt under FLSA.
- Serves as the Compensation Business Partner for Manufacturing/Supply Chain
- Ensures compliance with DOL, IRS, and all other applicable regulatory guidelines and entities. Remains aware of internal company practices, competitive and legislative environment and market trends and developments within all employee compensation areas.
- Oversees the participation and integration of all pay surveys ensuring that market data is current and competitive. Utilizes all software solutions available to maximize reporting capability (currently Payscale Market Pay).
- Collaborates with stakeholders, including HR, finance, operations, and senior leadership, to design and implement performance-based incentive programs that drive business performance, enhance employee engagement, and align with the Company’s strategic objectives. Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of these incentive programs to ensure return on investment.
- Develops Manager, HR, and Associate training for compensation programs.
- Partners with HR,Talent Acquisition, and the business customers to continuously improve processes.
- Develops and implements new ideas / concepts to move HR, compensation, and the business forward.
- Review and monitor employee pay and recommend reviews
Required Minimum Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years Compensation management experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills (High proficiency)
- Strong technical skill level with curiosity and desire to continue learning—in particular, how to effectively and securely leverage AI in the compensation space
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (High proficiency)
- Knowledge of HR employment laws and regulations
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint (high proficiency)
- Knowledge of compensation principles and procedures. (high proficiency)
- Knowledge and understanding of HCM systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, forward-looking work environment
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and change
- Attention to detail & ability to see and understand the broader picture
- Strong business acumen
- Self-directed--ability to see what needs to be done, develop and propose a plan and drive toward solutions with minimal supervision
- Advanced project management skills
Experience Preferred
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or SPHR or SHRM-SCP Preferred
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA)
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP SuccessFactors (Compensation, Variable Pay, EC)
- Knowledge and understanding of Power BI, Power automate
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment
