Summary

Drive fleet reliability, operational excellence, and safety across a multi-site maintenance network. As a Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will lead multiple Fleet Maintenance Garages, providing strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective maintenance operations. You will partner closely with Operations, Transportation, Finance, and vendor partners to optimize fleet performance, standardize best practices, and deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers. This role is ideal for a collaborative, results-driven leader who excels at developing high-performing teams, managing complex operations, and driving continuous improvement while upholding Perdue's values of Quality, Integrity, Teamwork, and Stewardship.

 

The salary range for this position is $101k - $126k per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enforce DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards across all garages.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure audit readiness.
  • Lead incident reviews and corrective actions.
  • Lead and develop Garage Managers, ensuring accountability for safety, performance, and culture.
  • Drive consistency in leadership practices, communication, and execution across all locations.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and retention.
  • Travel approximately 60% to support garage operations, engage with teams, and ensure execution consistency within the service area, as required by the business.
  • Ensure consistent execution of PM/CM programs aligned with OEM and DOT standards.
  • Monitor fleet reliability, downtime, and maintenance quality across locations.
  • Support fleet lifecycle strategy and new equipment implementation.
  • Maintain and apply working knowledge of fleet specifications, CMV requirements, and equipment standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality, cost effectiveness, and alignment with operational needs.
  • Support equipment design, specification development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive technician training, skill development, and adoption of new technologies and maintenance practices.
  • Standardized processes, standard operating procedures, and key performance indicators across locations.
  • Drive improvements in PM compliance, technician skill development, productivity, and turnaround time.
  • Optimize inventory management and vendor coordination.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Procurement, and Finance to support business needs.
  • Lead communication on regional performance, risks, and priorities.
  • Support fleet initiatives, vendor management, and capital planning.
  • Manage regional maintenance spend, including labor, parts, and vendor costs.
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation, including garage charge-outs.
  • Leverage reporting and analytics to monitor trends, identify cost drivers, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with Finance to analyze variances, forecast spend and improve cost performance.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet business needs.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years multi-site management experience.
  • Strong leadership experience.
  • Deep knowledge of fleet maintenance operations.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency with fleet systems and reporting tools.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ year multi-site management experience.
  • ASE certifications (Master or relevant series).
  • Advanced training in fleet management, reliability engineering, or maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS/Maximo).
  • Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement certification.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL).

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Work in an office environment with routine desk work, computer use, and office equipment operation.
  • Travel up to 60% of the time by car and air, including overnight hotel stays.
  • Move freely throughout garage facilities.
  • Climb vertical heights up to 50 feet.
  • Carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Work in humidity levels ranging from 0% to 100%.
  • Work in environments with noise levels ranging from 50db to 100db.
  • Work around dust, animal components, and chemicals (Safety Data Sheets available).
  • Wear required personal protective equipment.
