Summary

Drive quality excellence and operational performance across our soybean crush facility. As a Laboratory Supervisor of Crush Operations, you will lead laboratory operations and develop a high-performing team while ensuring the accuracy of testing programs, compliance with quality and food safety standards, and the delivery of reliable analytical data that supports production success. You will collaborate closely with production, commercial, and operational leaders to maintain product specifications, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and resolve quality challenges. The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $116,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and developing associates to meet departmental needs.
  • Perform annual collaborative testing.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of all laboratory testing equipment.
  • Manage all aspects of quality control programs such as GMP+, FSMA, and related standards.
  • Integrate NIR into testing processes to reduce wet chemistry testing frequency by increasing NIR accuracy.
  • Ensure safe working conditions for all associates and actively participate in the EHS committee.
  • Ensure GHS hazard communication requirements are met for all chemical and SDS information.
  • Ensure products meet established customer quality, service requirements, and specifications.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Report assay results to commercial and production teams.
  • Notify and coordinate with production if analyses are out of specification or quality issues arise.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology.
  • 5–7 years of related experience.
  • Understanding manufacturing technologies.
  • Understanding quality control processes.
  • Understanding safety and environmental programs and requirements.
  • Understanding standard software applications.
  • Strong communication, math, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Ability to move freely throughout Agribusiness facilities, including climbing vertical heights (0–150').
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (0–100°F), humidity (0–100%), and noise (50–100db; hearing protection required).
  • Exposure to chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
  • Required travel to remote Agribusiness and customer locations.
