Summary
Come join us as an Environmental Sustainability Intern at our Corporate HQ for Summer 2026! Our internship offers students hands-on, real-world experience within the company over a 10 - 12 week period. Come experience an inside look in the world of Sustainability, CPG and Food Production.
This position will support key initiatives across our company’s environmental strategy—spanning climate, regenerative agriculture, and ESG reporting. This internship offers hands-on experience inside a leading food and agriculture business deeply committed to advancing sustainability initiatives. You will learn how our initiatives come to life through our values and vision and join in the work of advancing Perdue's pivotal role in the supply chain, from farmer to customer and consumer.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Climate & Emissions Support - Assist with collecting and organizing data for greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting. - Help analyze Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, especially supply chain data. - Conduct basic research on climate regulations and risk.
- Reporting & Benchmarking - Help prepare information for sustainability reports, customer requests, and ESG questionnaires. - Conduct research on industry best practices and peer company programs. - Maintain organized files and data for internal teams.
- Team & Cross-Functional Support - Attend team meetings to learn and assist with project coordination when needed. - Collaborate with departments such as operations, grain supply, procurement, and communications.
Minimum Education
- Must be a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at an accredited university in a relevant field of study. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agriculture, Natural Resources, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher
Experience Requirements
- Must be proficient at Microsoft Office and able to learn new software
- Possess strong analytical, communication and time management skills
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently or effectively in a team environment
Experience Preferred
- Strongly prefer a rising Junior or Senior who has completed at least 2 college-level communication courses
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, regenerative agriculture concepts).
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
