Summary

The Demand Planner will Maintain an 18-month consensus Forecast in Blue Yonder software for assigned customers or channels of business.  Continually tune statistical forecast models for accuracy and incorporate intelligence obtained from Sales or Sales Planning teams.  Lead monthly Key Account Review sessions with Sales and Sales Planning for assigned customers.  Drive discussion about key forecast drivers and gain consensus of longer-term sales forecast.  

 

The salary range for this position is $84,000- $126,0000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage Blue Yonder statistical forecast models
    • Accurately maintain master data and Demand Forecast Unit structure for all known demand for assigned customers or channels.
    • Review and act upon all demand exception reports weekly.
    • Tune forecast models for accuracy
  • Monitor Forecast Accuracy and Bias for assigned customers, channels or products.
    • Proactively engage Key Account Sales Managers to review and understand Forecast Variance and Bias.
    • Continually make adjustment to improve forecast quality.
  • React to forecast concerns raised by Supply Planners, Trade Marketing, Sales or Marketing.  Continuously work to improve overall forecast quality.
    • Ensure all forecast concerns are addressed.
    • Work cross functionally with Supply, Demand, Trade Marketing and Sales to ensure future availability reflects best picture of demand and what is available to sell ongoing.
  • Lead monthly Key Account Review sessions with Sales and Sales Planning for assigned customers or channels.
    • Follow the Sales & Operations Planning playbook
    • Review historical forecast Accuracy and Bias.  Align on forecast adjustments needed to improve forecast moving forward.
    • Hold Account Managers responsible for making forecast changes that will improve Forecast Accuracy
    • Review future customer demand.  Discuss risks and opportunities, innovation, and key business drivers.  Gain consensus on future demand including unconstrained opportunities with a 70% probability or better.
    • Communicate key customer forecast changes to Demand Lead so key changes can be discussed in the Sales & Operations Planning Process.

 

Experience Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.  The ideal canddiate will have/be:

  • 5-7 years of industry experience and Above Average Analytical Skills..  Knowledge of statistics and forecasting techniques and knowledge of SAP as it relates to customer orders, history and hierarchies are required. 
  • Requires a detailed and working knowledge of computer systems including Windows and BlueYonder.

Experience Preferred

Supply Chain experience and working knowledge of planning systems such as Blue Yonder or SAP APO.   Power BI experience and Power BI Report Writing Skills.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.  May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.

May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.  May need to climb ladders.
