Summary

Support a best-in-class employee experience as a Benefits Coordinator, where you will play a key role in the administration and financial management of our benefit programs. In this role, you will oversee weekly billing and funding processes, perform detailed reconciliations, and analyze cost and utilization trends to ensure accuracy and financial integrity across all benefit related transactions. You will also manage leave of absence programs end to end, coordinating claims, short-term disability funding, and payroll reconciliation to ensure employees are supported and paid accurately. This position has a target wage of $24.00 - $36.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

 

This position is located onsite at our Corporate Offices in Salisbury, MD.  

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process and track monthly administrative benefit vendor billings, weekly funding requests and new vendor set-up; Works with Finance and vendors to reconcile benefit accounts.
  • Run reports in vendor systems for cost, utilization and analysis.
  • Manage employee leaves in leave system, coordinating between associates, claim managers and Field HR with questions or issues related to claims.
  • Coordinate weekly Short-term Disability payments and payroll reconciliations.
  • State leave administration including, responses to claim requests and paid leave or disability offsets.
  • Prepare data and responses to vendors to process group life, voluntary benefits, and Long-term Disability claims.
  • Work in partnership with the Benefits Manager and 3rd party vendor to help administer 401k benefits including but not exclusive to eligibility and enrollment, funding, distribution or loan requests, quarterly reporting, government required filings, etc.
  • Review and respond to legal inquiries and work with appropriate teams to gather requested information.
  • Work with HR teams, associates, and vendors to resolve escalated eligibility, enrollment and claim issues.
  • Upload and enter child support inquiries or orders into benefits system for timely responses to state agencies.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration with vendors regarding any employer subsidy.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment activities with 3rd party enrollment vendor and field HR staff including communications, reviewing distribution lists, testing and validating new plan year changes in SAP payroll, SuccessFactors and vendor systems.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining Benefits Department Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.
  • Provide assistance with testing system functionality and work with benefit vendors, internal IT and payroll staff to troubleshoot system problems and ensure accurate data transfers.
  • Assist with other special projects as needed.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of benefits administration and analysis experience with self-funded plans.
  • Experience with high-volume leave management administration.
  • Familiarity of employee benefits and applicable laws and compliance requirements.
  • Technical skills: knowledge and working skills of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills.
  • Expected to flourish in a team environment where input and contribution is greatly valued and rewarded.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • SAP SuccessFactors HRIS and UNUM leave administration system experience preferred.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
