Associate Systems Analyst (Transportation)

Summary

The Associate Systems Analyst is a team member responsible for working on technology projects, including translating business requirements into functional specification documents, system configuration and testing.  Responsible for understanding of business processes and supporting technical functionality for the areas of Transportation, Logistics and other cross-functional areas as needed. This position will maintain key relationships with the respective business and/or customer base to provide quality service. The candidate should have the ability to self-manage and complete projects and tasks, on-time, with little supervision. Must be a self-starter. This is a fast-paced environment, so flexibility and willingness to multi-task is beneficial. The role is heavily geared towards production support activities, including maintaining system configuration, troubleshooting system issues to determine root cause, and suggesting/implementing changes to eliminate reoccurrence. 

The salary range for this position is $56,000 - $83,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

This position is based at Corporate Headquarters in Salisbury, MD.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Understand business processes and technology used in respective area
• Provide day-to-day application support for respective area, including after-hours on-call support rotation
• Write functional specification documents in accordance with business requirements
• Complete SAP configuration to meet the design criteria for technology projects in respective area
• Perform functional testing for configuration and development in respective area
• Work with business users to facilitate business testing of configuration and development in respective area
• Follow all company change management guidelines
• Proactively look for ways to streamline business processes using technology and make recommendations for potential enhancements and/or projects

Minimum Education

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Information Systems or Computer Science. 

Experience Requirements

• 6+ months minimum IT or equivalent experience with application systems used within the transportation industry.
• Programing Experience
• Technical Skills in SQL Language, Relational DB knowledge and Report Writer Experience or related experience
• Knowledge in Organizational Change Management requirements including creation and delivery of testing and training materials
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including creation of Excel spreadsheets, Word documents and MS PowerPoint presentations is required.
• Strong systems solution and systems architecture skills
• Strong understanding of manufacturing business processes
• Good communication and customer facing skills, able to interact effectively with diverse groups, both technical and business users required.
• Active listener, customer focused, relationship builder, team player.
• Must be a self-starter.

Experience Preferred

• SAP business process, IMG configuration knowledge and/or ABAP skills
• Exposure and/or familiarity with:
  • Integration methods such as EDI, AS2, API, etc.
  • DB2, PL/SQL or other language
  • XML, HTML, JavaScript
  • Dataiku, Snowflake, Tableau, PowerBi, Google Analytics
  • HP Quality Management Suite or testing software
  • Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio
  • SharePoint, OneDrive
• Understanding of Project Methodologies (Traditional/AGILE)
• Understanding of Supply Chain processes

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Primary work location:  Corporate Office, Salisbury, MD
• Ability to work at a desk for long periods of time in an office environment
• Position is primarily sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings
• May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another
• May need to access files, supplies and equipment outside of immediate work area
• Primary work environment is in an office setting with open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
• Frequent use of a computer workstation
• Some lifting up to 50 pounds (moving equipment as needed)
• Some minor travel for trade shows and conferences (approved travel expenses will be covered per Perdue Travel Policy)
• Some minor exposure to workshop conditions at ambient temperatures and weather (maintenance garages, truck yard, and other such environments in support of troubleshooting and project implementation)
• Some travel to manufacturing plant sites to support strategic projects.

Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

• May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
• May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
