Summary
Responsible for helping to manage staffing levels, supporting employee relations activity and/or transactional processing for the applicant/employee lifecycle in the HR database.
- Schedule: Day Shift 8:00am to 5:00pm
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining department reports, e.g., manpower and overhead numbers.
- When supporting staffing, develops and maintains a network of contacts to idenfity and source qualified candidates via on-line recruiting resources, local community involvement, and local institution (i.e., colleges and the Employment Security Commission). Conducts interviews and phone screens of potential candidates. Coordinates internal and external job fairs, college visits, etc. Conducts background checks and assessment testing on candidates.
- When supporting employee relations activity, becomes the first point of contact for associates with regards to questions regarding benefits, PTO, or other questions. Tracks associates attendance, for benefit group 4, general labor associates, extracting data from the company's timekeeping system, verifying accuracy with management, entering verified data into HR database, preparing attendance counseling sheets, obtaining associates' supervisor and appropriate HR representatives' signatures and filing in the associates' personnel file. Coordinates with the Staffing Recruiter/Interviewer to ensure that all new hire paperwork is together prior to new hire orientation. Coordinates witha the StaffingRecruiter/Interviewed termination activity. Enters accurate termination details into the HR database.
- When responsible for transactional processing, ensures all recruitment/hire processes in the Company Hiring Manual are implemented and followed. Supports the EPA to perform audits on a regular basis reporting results to management. Coordinates with Staffing Recruiter and Hourly Interviewer to ensure all new hire paperwork requirements are consistently met. Follows established retention policies and performs audits to ensure data integrity reporting audit results to management. Ensures all personnel activity of the associate is entered into the HR database. Performs regular audits.
- Utlizes all HR reporting tools. i. e., manpower, headcount and other required reports, to perform audits and generate reports.
- Makes recommendations to improve processes and efficiences.
Minimum Education
- AA degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
- In the absence of a degree, work experience may be considered.
- AA degree is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 4 plus years experience. Knowledge and experience of HRIS.
- Requires prior experience using HR/Payroll database systems.
- Proven success in handling administrative responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability for accuracy, meeting deadlines, experience in multi-tasking and ability to work with minimum supervision.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
