Summary

We are seeking an organized, deadline oriented, self-starter to perform facility maintenance and keep the yard clean and in order. This individual will be actively involved in the Company Safety program and the long-term and short-term goals of the department.

Compensation Data

This position has a target wage of $20.50 - $24.65 per hour, with negotiated increases. Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Operate forklift to load and unload trucks and trailers.
Place materials into and pull materials from storage warehouses.
Maintain warehouses in a neat and orderly manner.
Fill out paperwork associated with receiving materials.
Keep yard clean and orderly.
Dump trash dumpsters into garbage truck.
Perform facility maintenance and repairs.
Monitor facility equipment and record readings.
Perform testing of boiler and cooling tower water.
Pull wastewater samples for chemical analysis.
Maintain chemical storage room in clean and orderly fashion.
Monitor bulk chemical storage and secondary containment and maintain appropriately.
Sort pallets and load returnable pallets onto truck for return to vendor.
Make deliveries and pickups to local vendors.
Insulate piping.
Perform general facility housekeeping.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Participate in company and department safety program.
Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

Minimum Education

High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

Must be able to receive a forklift certification

Experience Preferred

Plumbing, unclogging drains, painting, roof patching, stucco patching, carpentry, chemlite repait, floor repair, and other repairs as needed.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
