Summary

Step into a high impact role where your work directly supports the financial success of plant operations. As an Accounting Clerk IIII, you will be a trusted partner in delivering accurate production reporting and driving a smooth monthly close process through timely journal entries and financial analysis. You will collaborate closely with plant leadership to gather and interpret data, contribute to cost estimates, and provide insights that support smart operational decisions. This role offers the opportunity to build strong cross functional relationships, sharpen your analytical skills, and play a meaningful part in keeping operations running efficiently and profitably.

 

This position is located onsite at our facility in Petaluma, CA.

 

This position has a target wage of $23.00 - $34.25 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate/timely daily, weekly and monthly statistical reporting, analysis and graphs.
  • Compile temporary labor hours and prepare accurate/timely summary of total hours by department on a weekly basis.  Reconcile the summaries to weekly invoices from the agencies to ensure accurate payment.  Also compile Independent Live Haul driver pay and prepare check request to ensure proper payment.
  • Assist with the preparation of accurate/timely weekly and monthly cost estimates.  Prepare weekly estimate for Plant, Paws and Live Haul for review by supervisor.  Prepare monthly cost estimates and compare them to General Ledger.
  • Prepare Accounting Journal Entries to assist with Monthly Close duties.
  • Prepare analysis on packaging and ingredients and purchases greater than $5,000 for capitalization. Prepare analysis on operating costs to ensure accounts are charged correctly.
  • Assist with financial audits assigned by the Accounting Manager and prepare government surveys as required.
  • Support the Accounting Manager with Ad Hoc analysis and special requests and provide back-up support when needed.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business.
  • 1 -2 years’ work experience.
  • In the absence of an Associate’s degree, total experience must total 5 years.
  • Requires strong reading, communication, math, writing and analytical skills.
  • Office administration, clerical and computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Kronos, and other office software.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • Work activity requires bending and climbing.

 

When in a plant environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
