Join our Perry, GA team with this exciting career opportunity! The DC Supervisor will manage daily operations of hourly associates who are responsible for the receiving, storage, inventory, and shipping of finished, WIP, and other goods to and from the plant and the DC. Ensures compliance of all necessary trainings and certifications, including but not limited to safety, MHE, shipping procedures and policies, QA procedures and policies, etc. Provides administrative and/or clerical support generally to specific department. Works under moderate supervision. May seek the advice of more advanced staff. Overtime may be required. Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
- Supervises the work performance of hourly team members, including staffing, attendance, job performance, disciplinary action, etc.
- Communicates with customers, associates, and others to answer questions, address complaints and explain information.
- Make necessary analytical checks on a variety of warehouse functions.
- Ensures training, cross-training, and development of team members for continual improvement.
- Attends and holds regularly scheduled meetings to ensure proper communication concerning a broad range of topics (safety, quality, production, etc).
- Monitors computers for pick list, manifest, and load directives.
- Monitors product inventories. May perform snap-shot and other inventory duties.
- Sorts and distributes workloads/ assignments to ensure effective and efficient completion of work.
- Understands the abilities and cognitive skills necessary to perform each job position within the department.
- Perform necessary tasks in CFS, SAP, YMS, SAFETY CHAIN, POWER BI, and ULTRASHIP related to safety, shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory.
- 8 to 12 hours shifts depending on staffing.
- Maintains clean and organized work area, including various housekeeping assignments.
- Generate reports as required by the job.
- Verify pick sheets, load diagrams, weight manifests to ensure all outbound loads are correct and meet SOPs.
- Communicate with the Perdue Transportation, Logistics, Supply Planning, and Sales departments as needed.
- Promote and maintain a positive customer service environment.
- Direct and assist loaders at all times to ensure no late loads.
- Conduct and hold meetings and pass necessary information off to the next shift and deliver important information clearly and accurate.
- Provide oversight/ perform training for all DC associates across a wide range of topics. Ensure all required training is completed and current.
- Provide oversight/ perform certification/ licensing for all DC associates for equipment operation. Maintain complete and current certifications/ licensing as required.
- Perform investigation/ provide root cause analysis on accidents and near-misses.
- Respond to associates needs and concerns related to safety issues as they arise.
- Assist in safety audits/ inspections/ observations documentation.
Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 -4 years direct related experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- 2 + years of CFS, SAP, YMS, Ultraship experience.
- Knowledge of standard software applications, such as Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- May be exposed to temperatures of -10 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 0 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facility.
- May be exposed to chemicals used in vehicles that transport poultry products and/or packaging materials.
- Adhere to all safety requirement, including wearing and use of protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company, preventing unsafe acts/conditions, and reporting unsafe acts/conditions.
- Must wear and use required protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
