Summary

Drive efficiency, reliability, and performance across our facility by keeping maintenance operations planned, organized, and one step ahead. As a Maintenance Planner, you will coordinate manpower, materials, parts, and equipment access to ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to production. You will partner closely with Production and Maintenance teams to plan, schedule, and track all preventative and planned maintenance activities while maintaining accurate records that support data driven decisions and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, enjoys solving problems before they happen, and takes pride in keeping operations running at their best.

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Principal contact and liaison between Maintenance and Production and other supported departments.
  • Ensure that all internal customers of Maintenance receive timely, efficient and quality service.
  • Have a continuing interest in internal customer needs.
  • Have awareness of the customers situation (schedule, problems, etc.), and help Production balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
  • Responsible for long-range as well as short-range planning. Long-range planning involves regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources. These two basic variables must be kept in balance if a proactive maintenance environment is to be established and sustained.
  • Plan and schedule shutdowns of Bar Charts, Networks, and develop planner reference systems including a file of Planned Job Packages for reoccurring jobs and labor and material libraries for each equipment center.
  • Keep the Maintenance Superintendent/Supervisor properly informed of critical situations and seek advice on matters outside the planner’s knowledge or authority.
  • Make recommendations for system improvement.
  • Promote the conservation of energy.
  • With management direction, responsible for Custodianship if the CMMS. Maintenance timekeeping, payroll input, cost distribution, vacation, absenteeism and tardiness records.
  • Maintain essential records and files from which are prepared and provides accurate and meaningful management reports.
  • Interpret and provision of historical equipment cost information.
  • Participate in budgetary preparation, tracking and analysis.
  • Assist the Maintenance Superintendent/Supervisor and Operations Plant Manager in periodic analysis of cost trends with recommendations for continual improvement.
  • Perform other maintenance related tasks and special assignments as requested by the Maintenance Superintendent/Supervisor or Operations Plant Manager.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Further technical education beyond high school or vocational training.
  • Minimum Perdue Maintenance A Mechanic technical and competency knowledge.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influential behaviors.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and MS products.
  • Spreadsheet savvy.
  • Working knowledge of Purchasing systems and protocols.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Normal office environment and construction sites as well as climate extremes found in a poultry processing operation and a wastewater treatment facility.
  • Must have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities.
  • Must be able to be exposed to all chemicals found in a poultry processing operation and a wastewater treatment facility.
  • Must wear and/or use protective safety equipment required for the job and for various locations.
  • Must be able to travel to remote facilities and/or offices for meetings.
