Summary 

Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our workforce as the Wellness Center Supervisor (RN). In this role, you will lead the on-site occupational health clinic, providing clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, and supervision of clinic staff including LPNs and CMAs. You will partner closely with plant leadership, Safety, HR, and corporate medical teams to support a safe, healthy, and productive work environment, helping reduce OSHA recordables, minimize lost-time injuries, and promote a culture of wellness. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assesses, treats, evaluates, refers (if necessary), and follows up on occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses incurred by sick or injured associates.   
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, establish nursing diagnosis, set goals and prescribe nursing interventions to meet health care needs, evaluate the response to interventions and care plans, design and implement patient-specific education programs. 
  • Supervises Wellness Center staff and functions to ensure quality nursing practice, patient interaction and treatment and manages costs through strategic and tactical planning and growth.   
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education and ensure that safe care is being rendered by staff and within the applicable state’s nursing scope of practice. 
  • Administers and maintains occupational health program consistent with company policies and procedures to include federal and state recordkeeping related to OSHA, workers’ compensation, etc.   
  • Achieves facility goals for management of worker’s compensation costs, recordables, lost and restricted time through case management. 
  • Provide advanced triage, assessment, and treatment for non-occupational and occupational injuries and illnesses. 
  • Establish and maintain clinical protocols consistent with best practices. 
  • Oversee quality assurance of all clinic documentation. 
  • Ensure clinic readiness, emergency response procedures, and medical supply management. 
  • Serve as primary clinical decision-maker for complex cases. 
  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs and ensure accuracy of recordability determinations. 
  • Monitor compliance with Medical Surveillance Programs, i.e. Bloodborne Pathogen standards, Hearing conservation programs, Vision, Respiratory protection programs, etc. 
  • Oversee HIPAA-compliant medical record management. 
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits. 
  • Provide reporting metrics to plant and corporate leadership. 
  • Input initial injury reporting and work w/ risk management on workers’ compensation processes. 
  • Monitor restricted duty assignments and return-to-work compliance. 
  • Communicate medical restrictions clearly with HR and plant leadership. 
  • Track lost-time cases and collaborate on early intervention strategies. 
  • Follow up with employees to support safe recovery and reduce re-injury risk. 
  • Collaborate with Safety and Operations to identify high-risk job tasks. 
  • Lead ergonomic assessments and job risk analysis initiatives. 
  • Analyze injury data and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Participate in root cause investigations. 
  • Present injury trend reports to plant leadership. 
  • Oversee health screening programs. 
  • Monitor compliance with Medical Surveillance Programs, i.e. Bloodborne Pathogen standards, Hearing conservation programs, Vision, Respiratory protection programs, etc. 
  • Administer and oversee vaccination programs. 
  • Direct supervision of occupational health clinic staff. 
  • Hire, train, and evaluate clinic personnel. 
  • Develop schedules to ensure coverage for production shifts. 
  • Provide coaching, clinical guidance, and performance feedback. 
  • Foster a service-oriented, proactive clinic culture. 
  • Manages Wellness Center KPIs and metrics, i.e. Clinic utilization, standard operating procedures, budget, etc. 

 

Minimum Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), COHN or COHN-S certification. 
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. 
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or college program plus 5 years related work experience. 
  • 5 years related work experience (occupational health, ER, urgent care, or industrial setting). 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus business management skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze injury and chronic condition data and drive improvement initiatives. 
  • All healthcare staff must adhere to the company immunization policy; provide proof of training, certifications and/or license. 

 

Minimum Education and Experience 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish). 

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors 

  • Position is active and requires movement throughout the processing plant and surrounding environments of the off-site facilities such as feed mills, hatchery, distribution center, and farms. 
  • Must be able to see, touch, smell & record findings in writing or electronically. 
  • Manual dexterity for clinical procedures. 
  • Have the ability to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 
  • Have ability to respond as needed to medical emergencies in all areas of the complex. 
  • Must have ability to move throughout the processing plant & surrounding environments of the off-site facilities, such as feed mills, hatchery, etc. 
  • Majority of work in office or clinic setting, as well as inter-facility & external environmental conditions (e.g. noise levels, changes in temperature, humidity, etc. 
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. 
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. 
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in poultry processing facility. 
  • You must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
