Summary
To help maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding grounds and assist in recycling operations, use of the forklift to help with chemicals unloading and loading, be available during the evening shift to help with chemical delivery on the
evening shift to the department that would be requesting. Able to unload poultry product that is in a tote from a box trailer to take to another location to be processed. Trained on recycling aerosol cans, waxed boxed, regular cardboard boxes, plastics waste and Styrofoam trays. Learn how to run a hydraulic bailer safely. Able to work alone in all type of weather conditions.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of the entire plant inside and outside the fence.
- Perform recycling functions, perform unloading and loading with different types of forklifts, drive tractor.
- Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE and preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
Experience Requirements
Experience Preferred
Pallet jack/fork lift license or have the ability to obtain a license
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
In stationary positions or moving for 8 hours on a wet, moist, dry and greasy floor which includes metal or plastic grating surfaces with up to four (4) hours in a single interval. Ability to climb stairs, catwalks, and work from a ladder. Exposure to and work in temperatures of <0 to >110 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient humidity, noise exposure of >110 db, and light intensity range of <50 to >100 foot candles. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, height, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depends upon the task being perform. Must be able to lift and control weights up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend down and to maintain a kneeling position. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions. Exposures to salt crystals to be used as deicer, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing operation. Must wear and/or use protective and safety equipment required for the job
