Summary

Lead the team that keeps our fleet running safely, reliably, and ready for the road. As a Garage Supervisor, you will oversee skilled fleet technicians in diagnosing equipment issues and performing high quality maintenance and repairs in accordance with OEM specifications, DOT safety regulations, and company standards. You will provide hands-on leadership, promote a safe and efficient shop environment, and ensure fleet readiness to support daily operations. This role is ideal for a strong leader who excels at developing teams, solving mechanical challenges, and driving performance and reliability across fleet operations.

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee fleet technicians in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a skilled and efficient team.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks comply with OEM specifications and DOT safety regulations.
  • Monitor work quality to maintain high standards of service and vehicle reliability.
  • Schedule and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities align with DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety risks.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for compliance audits.
  • Assign tasks and manage workloads to optimize productivity.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with vendors for parts and supplies.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Work closely with drivers, operations teams, and management to address maintenance needs.
  • Provide reports on fleet performance, maintenance trends, and cost analysis.
  • Foster teamwork and effective communication within the garage.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide technical support to technicians.
  • Address unexpected breakdowns promptly to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Make data-driven decisions to improve fleet maintenance strategies.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical processes.
  • Knowledge of standard computer software applications.
  • Mechanical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 1-3 years prior supervisory experience.
  • ACE certifications.
  • Valid CDL.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Able to move freely throughout the garage facility to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 50'); carrying tools and equipment (0-100 pounds); exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit); humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
  • You must be able to wear protective equipment.
  • Able to make road service calls in all weather conditions.
