Summary

Join our team as a Growout Manager and play a vital role in leading successful broiler growout operations. In this role, you will provide hands on leadership, guidance, and coaching to support bird health, nutrition, and overall performance, while driving results that align with company goals. You’ll partner closely with your team to plan, develop, and execute effective programs, build strong talent, and ensure efficient, high quality growout operations.

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all program requirements to ensure all SOPs are being followed daily. 
  • Develop and monitor annual operating budgets, growing programs, feeding schedule and other various measurements to ensure the success of the department in meeting company goals and objectives.
  • Have the ability to provide leadership, training and coaching to all subordinates and producers to ensure all policies and programs are being met.
  • Ability to communicate and act as a mediator between subordinates, peers, management, producers and non-company personnel to ensure that all sides have a clear understanding of company policies and all disputes are handled fairly.
  • Comply and follow company requirements regarding bio-security, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies always.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of direct experience.
  • Good communication (oral and written), reading, math and analytical skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license. Computer literate with skills in Microsoft.
  • Must be able to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete them on schedule.
  • Ability to develop protocols and processes and deploy.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to travel to other facilities and plant locations.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related discipline.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants.
  • Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amount of airborne dust, and feathers.

 

When in work environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses.
  • Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing, pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
