Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness has an opportunity for a Receiving Operator at our facility located in Elkin, NC.

This position is responsible for unloading into proper storage area all bulk, liquid, and micro ingredients from trucks and rail cars.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To make sure trucks are weighed in before unloading and prior to releasing, record receiving on appropriate forms, assuring samples are pulled of each ingredient and properly labeled.
To inspect all incoming loads of ingredients to determine if the company standards are met as well as facilitate unloading by occasionally using 15ib. sledge hammer to remove ingredients.
Take inventory checks on all raw materials bins and reported to appropriate supervisor.
Direct all raw materials to proper bin/tanks according to assigned recepticle.
Sweep and shovel receiving area between deliveries to maintain cleanliness and to aviod ingredient contamination.
Assist with general mil housekeeping when time permits or assigned by Mill Manager.
Manually operate rail car pullers in a safe mannner.
Assist in loading or feed trucks & feed manufacturing when needed.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent not required but preferred.

Experience Preferred

Mechanical background
Forklift certified

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

The environmental factor and/or physcial requirements of this position:

Must be able to swing a 15 lbs. sledge hammer.
Exposed to all seasonal weather conditions, significant amount of air borne dust and sustained noise levels greater than 85 db.
Must wear personal protection equipment
Must be able to climb heights to 120 feet.
Must be able to operate a forklift.
Must use fall protection when maneuvering on feed trucks & rail cars.
