Summary

 

Join our team as a Wastewater Offal Operator! We’re seeking a dependable, hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining safe, efficient operations. In this role, you’ll support critical wastewater and offal processes by operating and maintaining equipment, helping prevent spills, and ensuring by-product materials are handled smoothly. This position plays an important role in keeping our facility running cleanly, safely, and efficiently.

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm 

 

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and clean shakers and tumblers by spraying a high-pressure hose (240 psi) on the shaker every 15 minutes and the tumbler once an hour.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance and equipment lubrication by checking oil levels and belts as needed.
  • Transfer blood onto tankers by taking a 6’ hose 4” in diameter and placing it into blood tank, open wheel valve and visually monitor levels.
  • Cover loads prior to removal from work area. 
  • Obtain ladder and by turning crank clockwise to extend canvas cover.
  • Notify drivers by phone when bi-product loads are full and need to be removed.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

 

  • High School or equivalent is beneficial but not required.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

 

When in a plant environment:

 

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • Ability to move within OFFAL area, up and down steps and work in a wet environment.
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • You must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
  • Able to stand for several hours.
  • Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
