Summary

As a Senior Boiler Operator, you will lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our boiler systems while helping ensure uninterrupted plant operations. You will oversee equipment maintenance and repairs, perform preventative maintenance, respond to emergency breakdowns, and troubleshoot mechanical issues to maximize system performance. In this critical role, you will conduct daily chemical testing and monitor boiler and cooling tower water quality, maintain accurate operational records, and uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced, hands-on professional who excels at problem-solving, takes ownership of critical equipment, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where reliability and continuous improvement are top priorities.

This position has a base rate of $43.39 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on boiler equipment.
• Diagnose failures of boiler equipment and make repairs.
• Rebuild boiler equipment as needed.
• Maintain records and logs as required.
• Compile and complete paperwork related to repairs, including work orders, timecards, and job cards.
• Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies, as well as company policies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of experience.
• State Stationary Engineer Level 1 License.
• Valid state driver's license.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Advanced technical training.
• Boiler Operator Certification.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

• Ability to move freely throughout the division facilities, including climbing vertical heights (0–150').
• Ability to carry tools and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures (0–100 degrees F).
• Exposure to humidity levels ranging from 0–100%.
• Exposure to noise levels ranging from 50 dB to 100 dB and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
• Ability to wear protective equipment, including a self-contained breathing apparatus
