Summary
Keep our operations running at peak performance as a Maintenance Mechanic with Perdue Agribusiness. In this hands-on role, you will play a critical part in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding the mechanical equipment that powers our production facilities. From performing preventative maintenance and diagnosing equipment failures to fabricating components and responding to emergency breakdowns, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Working alongside experienced maintenance and operations teams, you will use your mechanical expertise and problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement efforts. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated, safety-focused professional who enjoys working with industrial equipment, tackling technical challenges, and making a direct impact on operational success in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is within a union-represented collective bargaining unit.
Schedule: This will be a 12 hour rotating shift.
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose failures with mechanical equipment and make repairs.
- Rebuild mechanical equipment.
- Fabricate sheet metal.
- Compile and complete paperwork related to repairs, including work orders, timecards, and job cards.
- Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies.
- Respond to calls after hours and on weekends to repair mechanical equipment failures.
- Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Trainee: 0–2 years of experience.
- Mechanic: 2–5 years of experience.
- Senior Mechanic: 5+ years of experience.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Satisfactory DOT drug test and physical.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- Move freely throughout Agribusiness facilities, including climbing vertical heights (0–150') and vertical ladders.
- Carry tools and equipment (0–100 pounds).
- Work in environments with extreme temperatures (0–100°F), humidity (0–100%), and noise (50db–100db).
- Exposure to chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
- Wear protective equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Travel to remote Agribusiness facilities as required.
