Summary

Keep our operations powered safely and efficiently. As a Maintenance Electrician for Pasturebird, you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment that keep our facility running at peak performance. You will play a key role in supporting daily production, minimizing downtime, and improving equipment reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working closely with operations and maintenance teams, you will identify issues, implement effective solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a safety-focused, detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex electrical challenges and making a meaningful impact on operational success.

 

 

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

 

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial poultry barns, including lighting, ventilation fans, heaters, and generators.
  • Work with automated feeding and watering controls, PLC components, and control relays.
  • Troubleshoot wiring issues.
  • Maintain backup power systems.
  • Lead and train 2–3 helpers to complete remedial tasks.
  • Safely perform electrical work in dusty, humid, outdoor environments.
  • Ensure reliability of electrical systems to prevent power failures that can result in major losses.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of experience.
  • Demonstrate reading, writing, math, and analytical skills.
  • Troubleshoot switches, 3-phase motors, and service light fixtures and ballasts.
  • Work with process sensors and switches, both digital and analog.
  • Maintain and support 3-phase motor circuits, controllers, and control centers.
  • Work with power distribution systems and switchgears.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with photovoltaics.
  • Experience with three-phase motors.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Perform sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and at shoulder level, lifting to 50 lbs., and repetitive tasks throughout the day.
  • Occasionally move between offices or buildings.
  • Work on wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 28°F to 100°F, including ambient and 100% humidity conditions.
  • Handle products ranging from 25°F to 50°F.
  • Work in noise levels ranging from 50 db to 110 db.
  • Be exposed to chemicals commonly used in poultry and food processing plants.
  • Access files, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Wear and use required protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
