Overview: 

  • Responsible to maintain equipment, buildings, property, and manure hauling.
  • Work with other team members to ensure that timely and proper repairs are made.
  • Assist in Capital Improvement projects as requested.
  • Assist in daily hog production in times of staff shortages.

 

Duties:

  • Equipment Maintenance:  Manure scraper adjustments, lubrication of corner wheels and drive sprockets, and all feed supply lines
  • Equipment repairs:  Feeders, waterers, gating, roofing, siding, curtains, manure scrapers, and conveyors
  • Machinery maintenance and repair:  Oil and Filter, lubrication of all moving parts, tire repairs, parts removal, and installation
  • Grounds Keeping:  Mowing, weed eating, road grading, herbicide application on perimeter fence lines and around buildings, and general cleanup
  • Manure and compost removal and spreading
  • Any other duties assigned, requested, or directed by immediate supervisor.

 

Education/Requirements:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to lead by example, and work with a team of 2-5 people
  • Ability to problem solve, be a critical thinker, goal oriented, and a team player
