Summary
Lead field operations that directly support flock health, farm performance, and overall production success. As an Area Supervisor, you will guide and support Flock Advisors, farm associates, and contract growers while overseeing key programs such as growing, vaccination, and feed management. You will monitor performance metrics, partner closely with farm teams, and implement improvements that drive productivity, animal welfare, and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys working in the field, building strong relationships, and making a measurable impact on agricultural operations.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Travels to Grow out facilities, poultry houses and/or research farms monitoring conditions to ensure bird health.
- Provides leadership, training and coaching to associates, as well as producers to ensure all company policies and programs are being met.
- Complies and follows company requirements regarding biosecurity, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies always.
- When managing a research farm, coordinates all resources necessary to conduct research trials including chicks, feed, fuel, litter, labor, live haul, processing and yield.
- Generates and maintains all records according to specific trial protocols and implements programs to ensure accuracy of all research data.
- Reviews data for inaccuracies and implements corrective actions.
- Establishes operating procedures designed to minimize bird stress and to optimize the quality of the research data to distinguish differences between experimental treatments.
- Ensures a safe working environment for associates working on the site.
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School or equivalent.
- 0 -3 years of experience.
- Good communication (oral and written), reading, math and analytical skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Should be computer literate with skills in Microsoft.
- Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to travel to other facilities and plant locations.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science or related discipline.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants.
- Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amounts of airborne dust, feathers.
When in a plant environment:
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses.
- Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing, pulling and lifting to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
